Guy wins Festival of Speed award
Guy Wilks made a glorious debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Britain's front-running WRC star entertained 150,000 fans with some spectacular sideways driving in The Sun Mobil 1 Ford Focus RS WRC04.
He completed more than 18 runs of 3km forest rally stage - as well as showcasing the official works Mitsubishi Lancer WR 05 up the famous Goodwood hillclimb.
Guy, 26, said: "I hope we put on a good show. It's rude not to entertain the spectators with a few donuts and some big drifts in the rain!
"This was my first time at Goodwood and it's been a pretty cool experience. I was really chuffed to receive a winner's medal from Lord March at the awards presentation on Sunday night. I hope that means we can come back next year!"
Guy was named Rally Driver Of The Day on the opening day of the festival.
A Goodwood spokesman said: "Guy kept everybody entertained.
"He jumped from car to car but made time for everyone and always had a smile on his face."
Guy's next race is Rally Isle of Man (19-21 July), round three of the British Rally Championship, in the Mobil 1-backed works Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX.
He returns to WRC action in The Sun Mobil1 Focus on Rally Finland (3-5 August).
The Sun Mobil 1 Rally Team is also supported by Scalextric.
